Meta launched paid “Plus” plans for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp on Wednesday. You pay a few bucks. You get a bit more control. That’s the deal. Naomi Gleit, head of product, posted the outline directly on Instagram.
Global rollout is underway. Prices?
Instagram Plus costs $3.99 a month. Facebook Plus is the same. WhatsApp Plus runs cheaper at $2.99.
So what do you actually get for that money? On Instagram it is about visibility and vanity. Subscribers can peek at how many times people rewrote their Stories without appearing as a viewer. They can extend those stories beyond the usual 24 hour window. Unlimited audience lists. A weekly spotlight. There are cosmetic tweaks too like animated Super Heart reactions custom app icons and special fonts for bios.
Facebook Plus follows a similar path. Focus is on profile customization and social expression. WhatsApp takes a different lane entirely. Here the perks are functional personalization: custom ringtones app themes premium stickers and extra space to pin chats.
None of this replaces Meta Verified. That service exists separately. It is about blue checks and impersonation protection.
Is this the endgame?
No. Plus plans are just the beginning. Meta is testing Meta One behind the scenes. It will likely bundle AI features and professional tiers for creators and businesses. Maybe it will tie into Muse Spark the new flagship AI model.
For now that future version stays in early testing select markets. We wait. The bill comes whether you like the extra heart animations or not.
